Happy Holidays 2011/2012!

As always we're a little behind on keeping up with this thing, but better late than never!  Happy Holidays 2011/2012 here we go!

We spent 9 days up at Crystal for the holidays and pretty much completely wore out the kids in the process.  Mother Nature prevailed in the end after a pretty uneventful month of weather in December.  The night before Christmas gave us about 5" of snow up north, which made all the difference in the world.  Since Tommy didn't remember what snow was we needed to go for a sleigh ride first thing in the morning to check it out.

Pre-Christmas Eve mass Mom and daughter.  As always, Margot was perfectly behaved.

Pre-Christmas Eve mass Dad and son.  The tie even stayed on the whole time during mass?  For the most part Tommy behaved himself during the service, and if anything provided consistent entertainment after each song be screaming "YYAAAAAYYYYY!" and clapping his hands.  I didn't actually witness him pick his nose and wipe it on the unsuspecting gentleman in the row ahead of us, but it apparently happened and the story was corroborated.  We've entered a new phase with young Tom to say the least.

Christmas Eve brother/sister excitement.  Margot's look is actually a mix of joy and slight fear that her brother is about to kiss, hug, or physically harm her in some way which has become to norm lately.

Shades from Santa for the beach!

The focus on this girl is amazing....

Matching shades for the beach!

By far the biggest excitement of the week was getting Tommy up on some skis for the first time in his young Olympic career.  We fully expected tears, but the kid is born for speed.  Instead of gently sliding down the hill the first time, he attempted to run with his skis on.  This is either a good or bad thing, and we'll know the answer to that question in about 3 years.

Mom did a great job.  It's more work than it looks.

Documentation that "we are all witnesses" to the start of his world cup gold medal career.....except Margot I guess.  Woops.

If skiing doesn't work out, there's always a career in tractors.  Grandpa Doug noticed Tommy's affinity to tractors during a recent visit, and decided that he needed one of these things.  Needless to say, prying Tommy off of this thing is no easy task and the first time it was time to "get off the tractor", I watched the meltdown of all meltdowns quickly unfold.

Of course there was a tutu present during the holidays, and it became apparent that tutus are a polarizing topic in the Caswell family.

The annual game of "Dress up Mark Hughes", the New Year's Day birthday boy.  I think he fit into the tube top and swimsuit pretty well if you ask me.  I'm not sure he shared the sentiment.

I wanted to include the below picture to not just show the MC and his date, but to illustrate the walking party that is Todd Galdes with a few drinks in him.  Jerry Rice would be proud.

Happy 2012 to everyone!  Cheers to a happy and healthy new year!
