Giving Thanks

So much to be thankful for! Despite being the low-man on the totem pole and having to work on Thanksgiving day, we had a great Turkey Day!
Below, Gus is thankful we lifted his bowls off the floor after suffering a bruised rib from Pat shoving him into the car for a family cruise. Gus is no longer a voluntary passenger after a little incident with his tail in the tailgate a few weeks back...
The poor dog whimpered every time he put his head down to drink, so against my better judgement we let the dog eat off the chair.

Tommy practices "open wiiiiide" before the big feast.
Pat putting the bird on the smoker
Tommy is thrilled about the spread. Check out that cranberry mold...right out of the can.
First bite of turkey....
I turned the pager off Friday morning and we headed up to Michigan to visit the Crystal Mountain gang. No skiing on Thanksgiving this year, but snow was in the air!
Below, headed to happy hour on the people mover.
Brrrrrrrr!
Too bad I had the wrong angle here...you can imagine the look on his face being nose-t0-nose with the moose.
Aunt Terry practicing for grandma-hood in a few months!
"Why is there a tree in the house?"
Mischief is my middle name...
No smiles on command.

Grandpa must need to have his bifocals adjusted...he sent us back home today with a tree that would have been better suited for Daley plaza than our living room with modest 9 ft ceilings...
Pat wanted to start trimming from the top....oh no, no, no.
The lumbar yard in the front yard after finally getting it right...thanks, Dad!
A perfect fit.
It was a great kickoff to the holiday season...hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

  1. Love the "turkey trot" shirt on Thanksgiving Day. Get busy with the knitting needles, Jen, for ornaments for your Tree! I wish I could see it in person - but you never know where we will be.
