Catching up

Well, it's over...I just completed (with any luck, for good) my FINAL anesthesia board exam, which is why the blog has been on vacation lately! Now that my studying is done, I'm looking forward to reacquainting myself with the family! Pat deserves a gold star for all of the daddying he's done lately- I couldn't have done it without him! The kids have done great with self-entertainment as well- Tommy's been showing Margot how to work all the toys.
Tommy earned temporary pacifier privileges after sustaining his biggest boo-boo thus far, falling chin-first into a car and biting a respectable chunk out of his tongue. He was on a yogurt-based diet for days, but has made a full recovery.
Daddy and "mini-me" watching yet another rough start to the ND football season.
Margot is now 5 months, and loves using her hands to shovel all objects into her mouth.
Doesn't every kid have a picture with the strainer?
We admittedly bit off more than we could chew taking the kids to South Bend for the Michigan State game, but as you'll see we were again spoiled by the communal parenting of our wonderful group of friends! Below, grandma-in-training Deb and Shannon whisked Tommy away to win a ball as we waited for dinner.
Spartan green or Irish green? Thanks again, Debbie!! :)
It was a cool start at the tailgate, so Margot opted for a handmade knit look.
Cousin Urban is quite the cutie! Watch out, ladies!
Melissa enjoyed the weekend "without kids", but spent most of her time helping us with ours...:)
Uncle Todd and Margot sharing a laugh.
Tommy had a breakfast of champions at the tailgate...he was observed grabbing several blueberry muffins off the table, and topped it off with his FIRST EVER chocolate chip cookie. We quickly moved the vegetable tray to the edge of the table for his convenience.
Pat and Bubba- old roomies!
These are some of my favorite pics ever...the lawnmower was an awesome chick magnet!

One family shot before the kids and I headed home for a nap!
Looks like Tommy has inherited the Schaffler-Dance gene!

Happy Fall, everyone!!

  1. I love the fact that Tommy's 1st brownie and 1st chocolate chip cookie have all come homemade from Auntie Wissa! It makes me so proud! Just wait until I introduce peanut butter cups Jen!
