With the onset of the cold temperatures comes new challenges to the parents of an active almost-2-year-old. We've found ourselves really struggling lately to rediscover the toys and books we have in the house. We used to just throw the poor kid outside and monitor from a distance that he's not about to break a bone or two. With the emergence of the full stockpile of toys and books, we noticed that our neglected second child suddenly lit up with excitement. We have to remind ourselves sometimes that poor Margot needs a little attention too......Tommy simply commands it 99% of the time.
Good old fashioned block stacking is a new favorite. We were shocked when we saw him stack 9 in the first session. He'll be a killer jenga player in years to come.
Sadly he gets more excitement when they fall over.
Margot wonders where these toys have been all her life.
All the noise makers are fan favorites.
Again, something to be said for the good old fashioned stuff. Here we took a giant cardboard box, cut some windows in it, told Tommy it was his "garage", and tada....hours of entertainment in the basement.
Learning how to back in trailers is next.
Not much excitement around here for Thanksgiving but we hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Hard to believe the holidays are here already!
Happy Thanksgiving to you four and Gus as well!
