Anniversary Week 2012 #1: The wheels

We had a fantastic anniversary week (love how we've dragged it out an entire week...everyone should celebrate anniversaries this way) at Camp Crystal with a slew of family and friends who ALL had things to celebrate besides Schaffler anniversary #7 and Galdes #3: retirement, unemployment, end-of-school year, new house, new job, chemo completion, etc...and the number of toasts equaled the number of beers, which made for a few LOOOONG nights.
We'll have a few posts to commemorate this week because it was a big one for us.  After many months of anticipation and preparation, we packed our bags, bid Chicago a very fond farewell, and headed "Up North" to begin a new chapter we like to call "The Simple Life".  Next step is getting a cow and planting the garden...just kiddin', we just think it's a swell place to be!
So the theme of this one is "wheels", because the kids sure do have a lot of them to play with!
Below, the mommas decided to make it happy hour at 19th hole while we waited for the gents to finish their round, so I enlisted Tommy's help keeping Margot and Urban entertained while we sat back with a cool beverage.  Even with leverage against him, he did amazingly well.

Uncle Willie (who sported some new wheels himself,  showing up on a radical new "long board", not suitable for toddlers) gave Tommy his first scooter ride.  I think it was a sneaky way of introducing him to the concept of snowboarding...I've got my eye on you, Bill!

Tommy demonstrates the correct form for snowboarding, I mean, scooter-ing.

It goes without saying the golf cart was a huge hit all week- here, they're off to feed the fish.

Urban caught a few mosquitoes when his dad hit the throttle.  It's all-or-nothing on this J.D.

Like peas and carrots--- Tommy and the four-wheeler.

And the newest ride on the block is the Burley...it's a stroller, it's a trailer, it's a camper, it's a shopping cart...the real question is, what isn't it?

It has been a heck of a week-- more to come! Happy summer!!
