Doin' some learnin'...

After spending the summer in various bodies of water, we figured it was time (or overdue, rather) to enroll Tommy in swim lessons.  Great Wolf Lodge appears to dominate the local market for swim lessons, which I completely understand, as the entire family gets in "free" for 4 hours twice a week.  Thank God for the off-season, right?
Tommy and Pat headed to the back for lesson #1.
We quickly realized that we chose the wrong class when it was full (quite literally...) of infants who screamed when their feet touched the water.
Tommy is day-dreaming of being back in the lazy river...
Since we underestimated his water "acceptance" for this session, we tend to play hookie and just let the kids swim themselves to sleep...:)
The Children's Museum hosted a "Safety Day", featuring our heroes the firemen.  Becoming quite comfortable in the cab of the truck, Tommy tried a helmet on for size.
He also took an interest in water safety; voluntarily sitting for the entire class, taught by a coast guard helicopter pilot.  Every time the word "helicopter" was mentioned, Tommy cheered with delight.  Tommy would look great in a flight suit someday, wouldn't he?

Next up:  off to see Grandpa and Grandma in Dallas!
