Deep in the heart

Just as fall arrived in Northern Michigan, we perfectly timed a trip south to see the Dallas and Plano Schafflers and enjoy one last weekend of heat!
Despite missing the daily nap, the kids did great on the plane...they were so excited!
Below, sun is still high in the sky and the kids are ready for bed...:)
Grandma made homemade strawberry ice cream, which was well-received at the kids' table.
Grandpa appreciated the cheap labor in watering the flowers.
Margot lends a helping hand...or two.
Real Texas BBQ.
The Chihuly exhibit at the Arboretum was incredible!

Margot with her West Nile repellent pin.
Enjoying a snack break.
A few obligatory pictures in the pumpkin patch...on a football saturday. :)

Love these pictures, but looking at the camera is a rare event.  A little depiction of the chaos that is our life...

So fun playing with our cousins!
"The Schaffler 4" Rock Band
By nature, definitely not by nurture, she knows how to feed a baby doll.  We only have 1 doll at home and nothing to feed it.  Ideas for Santa.
Well, what do you know!?  A final shot in Dallas, with our new relative "Rusty-dog".  It was a great weekend-- too short, but full of family!
Let's go Irish!
