So much for the good luck charm

The brainwashing continued in East Lansing, MI this past weekend with an RV trip to the ND/MSU game. If one were into superstition, one might suggest that we refrain from bringing Tommy to any future pregame tailgates. The Irish are 0-2 with him in attendance so far this season. Maybe the problem is that we're not actually bringing him into the stadium for the game. Yep, that's gotta be it. Jen was behind the camera all weekend, so my apologies in advance for too many of my face.

Uncle Todd, Tom and "Cousin Eddie" in front of the RV before heading over to the tailgate. Todd arrived with some interesting hats for us. This might have been a subtle swipe at our chosen means of transportation? Week #3 of the Kelly era and we're not exactly "cruising".

I knew this was going to happen. The House family is trying their hardest to outfit Tommy in MSU gear when we're not around. Todd and Steph have their first due in Feb of 2011, so thankfully there's going to be plenty of time for payback. I spared their feelings a little and didn't mention that T has a tendency to start to crying anytime he hears the MSU fight song. What a smart kid.
Starting to realize the Irish fans are few and far between for away games.

The rain put a damper on the parking situation, so here we are waiting for more hands before the long trek to the tailgating spot. Todd was nice enough to be seen walking around campus with the enemy.

Starting to realize we're outnumbered.....

Maybe it was a blessing the rain came. It gave him a chance to hide for a few minutes.

A successful trip to the porta john! On my way back someone stopped me and said "poor kid". Thinking they were referring to the fact that he had to go with me to the restroom I quickly agreed. Then I realized they were talking about how he had Irish gear on. State fans are always a little clever before the game.

Aunt Steph and Uncle Todd were great hosts. We can't wait for them to come down to South Bend next year with THEIR 7 month old. He's hiding in there somewhere.....

Future Irish fan due out Feb 26th!

Catching up with the whole gang. Brad, Shannon, Melissa and Shane.

Tommy had had enough at this point as you can see. One too many Spartans sightings for one day. He probably knew what was coming for the football game.

Despite the outcome of the game it was a great weekend, and quick as usual. So far we're 0-2 vs. Michigan schools this season, which makes for a painful holiday season up at Crystal for us Irish fans. With Western Michigan on the schedule later this season I guess we have a shot at redemption. I shudder to think of going 0-3.
