Busy busy!

Everything goes in Tommy's mouth these days, which might explain those jowls he's sprouted in the past month or so.  Since he's learned how to grab anything within reach and shove it in his mouth, we find ourselves spending more time moving things just out of his reach.  It's a little sad to watch him rrreeeeeeeeaaach and just not quite get there.

My boss had his annual bbq last weekend, so we hopped in the car and set off on the road trip across town.  We've never understood how much of a suburban sprawl Chicago really is until recently, so this basically turned into a road trip. Upon arrival Tommy was introduced to one of the more peculiar things about midwest living.......above ground pools.

Lately there has been quite the discussion around the pro/con list for living in the suburbs vs. the city.  One perk of the burbs......fresh gardens.  My boss's wife had quite the garden and she happily let us raid it.

But by far the biggest news of the week (possibly in quite a few weeks) is that Mom finally started her big girl job this past Monday.  By all accounts it was a great first week and it seems like they didn't waste any time throwing her into the fire.  Here's Mom and her boys on the morning of day 1.
