Baptism Weekend

We are proud to announce that Margot is free of original sin! It was a whirlwind weekend with grandparents galore- we were so thankful to have everyone in town for her big day! Special thanks to her Godparents, Aunt Katie and Uncle Joe, who have their work cut out for them until she enters the convent at age 16.
Below, watching the thunderstorms from the comfort of the garage. Tommy was unusually brave with the loud claps of thunder and lightning, but was pretty attached to Dad through it all.
Sin makes Margot sleepy.
Bathrooms were tight with guests in town, so Margot got ready in the kitchen sink.
Before mass.
It's hard getting Tommy to smile for the camera these days...lots of scowls.
This was the best smile of the day-- must be for Grandpa and Grandma?
Margot is still getting over the fact I changed her diaper in the pew before the ceremony...how embarrassing to be naked in church. We both agree it should never happen again.
Daydreamin'...
Filling her up to keep the silence for the ceremony.
Margot's expression mirrored Katie's when the water hit her head.
I wasn't sure how much water we were going to be dealing with when Father Mike threw me a towel, but it was manageable.
A few family shots on the altar (after retrieving Tommy from Grandpa Ed in the back of the church where he had been screaming bloody murder during the ceremony...an ironic replay of his own baptism a year ago!?)
The baptismal gown was handmade by Pat's grandma and these pics don't do justice to how beautiful it is.
Welcome to Catholicism, Margaret Jane!
Coming up, our first trip to the beach...
