Northern Cousin Fun

I say this every time we put up a post on this site, but we've been awful about keeping this thing going.  Busy toddlers make for tired busy parents who don't have the energy time to work on this thing as often as we'd like!

Anyway, I happen to have a few moments right now and was lamenting the passing of Summer up here.  The season was too short.  One of the major highlights this past Summer though were the visits from the Morris clan.  We happen to have some pics of their most recent visit, which happened to coincide soon after we moved into our new house, so here we go!

Below a visit to one of the many great beaches up here called Haserot Beach, just a few miles north of us on the penninsula.

One of the great things we noticed this Summer was how much the cousins seem to love playing with each other.  Having our kids finally past the "baby stage" apparently means more playtime with others.  A common saying during the cousin visits is "Have fun and see you later.  Let us know if someone gets hurt."  The phenomenon of not having to watch your kids 99% of the time is a new thing that we love are getting used to.

Below, cautiously inspecting the waterfront for marine life......

One of the great things about where we live now is that we have a beach across from our backyard equipped with picnic tables, grills, a dock (for the boat we don't have) and a bonfire pit.  Summer will certainly be a highlight up here.....which seems appropriate since it only lasts a few months anyway!

Cousins Shea and Margot goofing around.....

The decibel level certainly goes up when they all get together.  Below is a new favorite.....yelling for no apparent reason.

Shea likes it about as much as we do.....

"NO RUNNING MARGOT!!!" was often heard.

Some kayaking fun below.  "Uncle Pat can you stay close to shore?"

The art projects were taken to a whole new level with Maeve around.

And at the end of the day there's nothing that can beat sitting around a campfire with mosquitos smores!

Happy kids....

Tired kids.....

Thanks for coming to visit Morris's!  We hope this becomes an annual ritual.

And a happy Fall (booooooo) to everyone else!
